Main Project Proposal

The Big Idea:

What is it? "byespace.com" -- social media optimization after life

A website where users can upload photos and other content about dearly departed loved ones. It’s like a Facebook or Myspace page but everyone’s dead. Share your stories about someone you miss. You can also create your byespace.com page before you die and be able to filter who has access to your pages. Connect with all your friends living and dead! The journalistic qualities of the site will include the ability for loved ones to share memories about the dearly departed. Also, depending on how the person died, we can aggregate news items on their page. For instance, if someone died of a heart attack we will automatically aggregate stories about living "heart healthy" on their page.

Who would use it and why?
The primary users will be people who miss a loved one or people who want to stay in contact with loved ones after they die.

What sets you apart?
There are other sites that are simply online memorials, but this is a way to bring social networking to the afterlife. You can create a long lists of friends and family and automatically post updates on life in heaven. Also, no other site we could find targets each person's page with health news related to the way they died.
